Application laboratories in Jena and Aachen

To accelerate the introduction of novel laser sources into application development, application laboratories in Aachen and Jena are accessible to partners from industry and research.

The multi-kW ultrafast laser sources and the jointly developed system technology are available in the application laboratories. With it, the partners can explore applications in four future fields: production, imaging, materials and fundamental research.

Moreover, partners from industry and fundamental research are invited to participate in using this unique infrastructure. For them, the cluster acts as a ”virtual institute”, in which the experts from the 13 Fraunhofer institutes IAF, IIS, IKTS, IMWS, ISE, ISIT, ITEM, ITWM, IWM, IWS, IZI-BB and ILT and IOF offer their combined expertise.
